Regression Therapy has historically been utilized in certain psychotherapy modalities, and hypnotic and shamanic therapy to address re-occurring concerns in present-day life that do not seem to positively shift or heal with conventional clinical therapies.

Regression Therapy can offer an opportunity to explore the very roots and causative factors of present day issues particularly where unhelpful old emotional patterns, attachments, and stuck patterns behaviours continue to replay themselves.

Regression therapy is a methodology and process that consciously regresses your awareness to the very root of what needs healing attention. It is a process that allows access to your subconscious mind by way of induction procedures, somatic access, linguistic and affective access. Once the subconscious is accessed the original imprint/s and causative factors influencing the presenting concern can be addressed and resolved. Like the root system of a tree, there may also be more than one root that feeds the body of the issue (as in the roots that feed the tree trunk, branches, leaves, and flowers/fruits) in this current life.  Several causative factors may have networked together as a constellation in this lifetime that gave rise to the limiting or negative issue.

This is an area of great controversy in the clinical world of psychology and therapy. This is primarily due to the fact that what emerges into awareness from the somatic subconscious memory cannot be validated as factual accounts of what the actuality is or was. It is true that the subconscious mind encodes all that we experience, however it is also true that our perceptual senses can merge and alter memory and we are the one’s who actively construct the meaning of any perceived event.

What matters however is what exists in the encoded somatic memory network and how perceived personal, genetic, inter-generational, and spiritual material emerges and effects the person in their current life. How and what is negatively encoded needs to be addressed, blockages dissolved, energetic signatures cleared, attachments released, and trauma healed.

In the case of repeating inter-generational themes, our DNA holds ancestral patterns of living such as attitudes, beliefs, psychological and emotional states, expectations, and behaviours.  These have been handed down from our ancestors both in genetic form and learnt behaviours.  If negative patterns and generational energetic signatures are not addressed these patterns can continue to be passed through to future descendants thereby influencing further distress.

Unhealed current personal trauma, past life trauma, and unhelpful spiritual imprints also create patterns and energetic signatures through our thoughts, emotions, physical health, and spiritual experiences. These too can be assisted to resolution with regressive therapy.

What is clear so far is that gene structure and our DNA are affected by our experiences both positively and negatively. Whether it is experiences from our immediate lifetime or those encoded in our very cells from our ancestors.

It is the science of Epigenetic that has demonstrated that traumatic experiences in our lives, or in our ancestral past, leave molecular scars that adhere to our DNA. It is also true that our genetic DNA can change. The mere act of bringing conscious healing awareness, transforming our old patterns of behaviours, re-evaluating our beliefs and the meanings we attribute to events, plus bringing attention to our relationship with the food we eat and environment we live in can alter our genetic DNA activity. Regression therapy is interested in locating the negative and limiting causative factors of experiences and bringing healing resources and resolution to these areas.

Regression therapy is not helpful for everyone, and in-fact it is not advisable for some populations. A thorough assessment needs to be made to assess a person’s suitability for this type of therapy, and the method by which each client feels comfortable in accessing unresolved issues.
